Aura Blockchain groundbreaker award CNMI 2025
The award recognises Aura’s pioneering role in advancing transparency, innovation, and collaboration across the luxury industry

Aura Blockchain Consortium is honoured to receive the Groundbreaker Award at the Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana (CNMI) Sustainable Fashion Awards 2025, held on September 27th at Teatro alla Scala in Milan. The event is organized by CNMI in collaboration with the United Nations Ethical Fashion Initiative (EFI), with the support of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the ICE Agency, and the Municipality of Milan.

The awards celebrate organisations that drive transformative innovation and advance environmental and social progress in fashion. This recognition underscores Aura’s unique role in redefining how blockchain technology empowers the luxury industry.

Together on stage, Stefano Rosso, CEO of Marni and Chairman of Maison Margiela; Alexandra Lupas, Corporate Projects Director at Prada Group; Nelly Mensah, VP of Digital Innovation at LVMH; and Eric de Rocquigny, Chief Operating Officer of Van Cleef & Arpels, embodied the collaborative spirit at the heart of the Consortium.

Lorenzo Bertelli CMO & Head of CSR at Prada Group, and Chairman of Aura commented: “This award is a valued recognition of the progress made over the years in bringing Aura’s mission to life, uniting expertise and experiences in the luxury industry towards a common goal. As capabilities and solutions continue to expand, Aura’s focus remains to set industry-wide standards for transparency and traceability for the luxury sector. We are proud that our forward-thinking vision and inclusive approach are being recognised and honoured by the CNMI.”

Franck Le Moal, CIO of LVMH and Vice Chairman of Aura echoed the importance of Aura’s remit for the industry: “Innovation for the luxury industry is not for innovation’s sake – instead, it must be meaningful and impactful for brands and customers alike. This recognition from CNMI underscores: 1) the success of an initiative that remains unique to this day among luxury brands, 2) the strong expansion of the Consortium to develop and promote the adoption of Digital Product Passports. Together, with our partners, we are defining a new standard for the luxury industry, particularly to meet the expectations of a new digital era of transparency and trust.”

Stefano Rosso noted: “Aura continues to challenge the status quo and operate at the frontier of innovation – not just through our technological solutions, but also through the broader cultural shift we are enabling across the luxury sector. This award is a recognition of our role in shaping the future of luxury through technological innovation and industry-wide collaboration.”

Eric de Rocquigny reflected: “This award is proving to be a recognition that extends beyond Aura’s technological capabilities – it celebrates the trust and authenticity that Aura is creating across the luxury sector. We are proud to be part of this movement.”

Since its founding in 2021, Aura Blockchain Consortium has served as a catalyst for collective progress, creating a neutral, industry-wide infrastructure for luxury brands. Today, with over 50 member brands and more than 70 million products registered, Aura continues to push boundaries, supporting the full lifecycle of luxury goods and redefining how they are created, distributed, owned, and reused.

Selected by an independent international jury of fashion industry leaders, the award places Aura among previous CNMI honourees recognised for reshaping fashion at the intersection of traceability, transparency, and innovation.

This milestone demonstrates the Consortium’s ongoing commitment to building a luxury ecosystem where collaboration leads to meaningful change, setting new standards for responsibility and authenticity across the industry.
