Poltrona Frau Launches Digital Product Passport for Iconic Furniture Collections

Poltrona Frau, one of the world’s most renowned high-end furniture brands and a member of Aura Blockchain Consortium, launches Digital Product Passports for its iconic Vanity Fair and Archibald collections, marking a significant milestone for the furniture industry.

Among the first high-end furniture brands to implement a Digital Product Passport, Poltrona Frau is setting a new benchmark for transparency, authenticity, and customer engagement. The initiative also positions the company ahead of upcoming European Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) requirements expected to impact the furniture sector in the coming years.

Developed in collaboration with Aura Blockchain Consortium and Aura’s ecosystem partner Temera, the solution combines blockchain-backed product authenticity with a seamless digital experience that allows customers to access trusted information about their furniture throughout its entire lifecycle.

Enriching the Customer Experience

Accessible through an NFC tag integrated into the product’s User Kit, the Digital Product Passport provides owners with detailed information about their piece, including materials, craftsmanship, provenance, production processes, and care instructions.

Beyond product information, customers can verify ownership, access dedicated maintenance content, obtain a Certificate of Ownership, and connect with after-sales services through a single digital touchpoint.

By creating a direct link between physical products and trusted digital information, Poltrona Frau is extending the ownership experience beyond the moment of purchase and fostering a deeper connection between customers and the craftsmanship behind each piece.

A New Chapter for Luxury Furniture

The launch represents more than a technology deployment, it reflects a broader evolution in luxury, where transparency, authenticity, and provenance become integral elements of the ownership experience.

Starting with the Vanity Fair and Archibald collections, including Vanity Fair XC, Archibald King, Archibald A, Archibald Large, Archibald Gran Comfort, and Archibald Denim Edition, Poltrona Frau plans to progressively extend the Digital Product Passport across its entire catalogue by 2030.

As Digital Product Passports become increasingly important across industries, Poltrona Frau’s implementation demonstrates how heritage brands can embrace innovation while preserving the craftsmanship, quality, and authenticity.
